If you're buying foreign property "now is probably a better time to buy than ever before," the presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun has said.
Amanda Lamb, speaking at the A Place in the Sun Live exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, said that due to low prices, prospective buyers could find some good bargains on property abroad.
She commented: "Bizarrely enough now is a fantastic time to buy because there are such great bargains to be had. As long as you have got the funds in place it's a brilliant time."
Amanda recommended Spain for buying a holiday home, saying that the country had half a million properties that have not been sold yet.
The presenter worked as an estate agent for four years and as a model for six years before working on A Place in the Sun.
Research from Cater Allen Private Bank shows that three million British people are actively interested in buying a house abroad, with 42 per cent intending to use the property primarily as an investment.
Currently 2.3 million people in the UK already own property overseas.
