Spain "really is a buyer's market at the moment" for those wishing to move abroad, according to Spain Magazine.
Magazine spokesman Oliver Chandler said that now is a good time to purchase in Spain, despite reports of difficulties for developers and agents, as prices are "very favourable".
Mr Chandler commented: "At the minute the prices are very favourable despite the strength of the euro against the pound."
He cited short, cheap flights and year-round good weather as the reasons for Spain's popularity.
Mr Chandler added that the climate difference between the north and the south meant that the country catered both to those who want a southern European style of living and those who prefer cooler temperatures.
In the Jet to Let Magazine 2008 subscriber survey, Spain was ranked third by 1,000 readers as the place they wanted to invest in and the Association of International Property Professionals reported that 25.4 per cent of all foreign properties purchased by Britons last year were in Spain.
In related news, Amanda Lamb, the presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, has warned prospective buyers of the importance of considering legal representation, saying that "95 per cent of the horror stories" she heard were from people who had not hired independent lawyers.
